His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Passenger Transport Act 1990.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to extend the scheme for the pre-payment of taxi-cab fares that currently applies to journeys originating at 2 Kings Cross taxi zones at night so that it applies to a further 7 taxi zones in and around the Central Business District of Sydney.

This Regulation is made under the Passenger Transport Act 1990, including section 63 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Passenger Transport Amendment (Pre-payment of Taxi-cab
Fares) Regulation 2014.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Passenger Transport Regulation 2007

Clause 163B Kings Cross and Sydney CBD fare pre-payment scheme

Insert after clause 163B (1) (b):

(c) the taxi zone adjacent to 57 Oxford Street, Surry Hills,
(d) the taxi zone adjacent to 199 George Street, Sydney,
(e) the taxi zone adjacent to 680 George Street, Sydney,
(f) the taxi zone adjacent to 2 Chifley Square, Sydney,
(g) the taxi zone adjacent to 46 Park Street, Sydney,
(h) the taxi zone adjacent to 3 Lime Street, Sydney,

(i)      the taxi zone in Alfred Street, Sydney.
