PASSENGER TRANSPORT ACT 1990 - REGULATION
(Relating to authorities to drive public passenger vehicles and to
the manner of revocation or variation of certain exemptions)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive
Council, and in pursuance of the Passenger Transport Act 1990, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 14 July 1990.
Amendment
2. The Passenger Transport Regulation 1990 is amended:
| (a) | by omitting clause 7 (1) (c)-(e) and by inserting instead the following paragraphs: |
(c)
suitable to drive taxi-cabs in the Metropolitan transport district;
(d)
suitable to drive taxi-cabs in the Newcastle transport district;
(e)
suitable to drive taxi-cabs in the Wollongong transport district;
(f)
suitable to drive taxi-cabs except in the transport districts referred to in paragraphs (c), (d) and (e);

(g) suitable to drive private hire vehicles;
(h) suitable to drive other public passenger vehicles.
by inserting after clause 7 (2) the following matter:
(3) A reference in this clause to a transport district is a reference to a transport district established under the Transport Administration Act 1988.
by omitting from clause 68 (2) (b) the words "by notice
published in the Gazette,";
by inserting in clause 68 (5) after the word ''granted'' where secondly occurring the words "(or, in so far as it relates to a particular person, by notice served on that person)". EXPLANATORY NOTE
The objects of this Regulation are:
(a)
to create a number of new categories of authorities to drive public passenger vehicles; and
(b)
to enable an exemption that has been granted, under the Passenger Transport Regulation 1990, to a class of persons to be revoked or varied, in so far as it applies to a particular person, by notice in writing served on the person concerned.
The Regulation also contains a minor amendment by way of law revision.
