under the
Partnership Act 1892
His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Partnership Act 1892.
JEFFREY SHAW, Q.C., M.L.C.,
Attorney General
Explanatory note
The Partnership Act 1892 provides that a law of another country limiting the liability of partnerships may be declared by the regulations to be a “corresponding law” for the purposes of the Act. If such a declaration is made, any limitation under that law on the liability of certain partners extends to an debt or obligation incurred in connection with conduct of the partnership's business in New South Wales. The object of this Regulation is to declare the laws relating to limited partnerships in force in the Canadian Province of Quebec to be corresponding laws for the purposes of Part 3 of the Act.
This Regulation is made under the Partnership Act 1892, including sections 64 and
81 (the general regulation-making power).
