May in the year of our Lord one tliousand eight hundred and

fifty-four under the Great Seal of the Colony of Now South "Wales H er M ajesty Queen Vietoria did grant unto David Eorhes H ugh Taylor Jam es M ‘Eoherts Charles Blakoliold James U rquhart and Jam es Edrop Commissioners duly elected for the management of the m arkets of the town of Parram atta under the provisions of the Act of Council third Victoria number nineteen the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto to hold to the use of them and their successors Commissioners as aforesaid for ever as a site or place for a m arket for the use and convenience! of the inhabitants of the town of Parram atta subject nevertheless to a proviso or condition for re-entry if the said land should he applied to other purposes or attcm ]hed to he alienated And whereas by virtue of the provisions of the “ Parram atta M arket A ct of 1866 ” the said Parram atta markets and all lands belonging thereto or hold in tru s t for the purposes thereof ^rcre transferred to and vested in the Council of the M unicipality of Parram atta aforesaid in trust for and subject to the several purposes and provisions of the “ M unicipalities Act of 1858” And whereas by virtue of the provisions of the “ Municipalities Act of 18(>7 ” the said M unicqiality of Parram atta came to be designated a Borough and all lands theretofore vested in the Council of the said IMunieipality were thereafter vested in the body corporate of the said Borough And whereas another parcel of land has been granted to the said Borough as a site for such m arket as aforesaid suitable for the purpose And whereas it has l)cen found ex])cdient to build a Town H all Municipal Council Chambers and offices and a Public Library for the use and convenience of the inhabitants of the said Borough and the said ])arcel of land described in the Schedule hereto is so situated as to afford a suitable site for such buildings as well as other buildings av hieh may hereafter be required bu t the Council of the said Borough hav<! no ])OAver to erect any such buildings thereon and it is expedient th a t they should possess such power Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent M ajesty by and Avitb the advice and consent of the Lcgislati\'e Council and Legislative Assembly of N cav South Wales and by the autbority of the same as folloAVS :—

buildings for the purposes of a ToAtm H all Municipal Council Chambers and offices and Public Library or for such other public purposes as may be found necessary or ]-e<|uisitc for the use and convenience of the inhabi­ tants of the said Borough and Avhich the Council of the said Borough may deem it expedient to erect thereon and also to pull doAvn and remove or permit to bo pulled doAvn and remoA'cd any buildings noAV erected or being thereupon And all trusts and obligations now subsisting to main­ tain a market upon the said land shall henceforth cease and determine.

2. This A ct shall be styled and may be cited as the Short title.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurements three roods and eighteen perches be the same more or less situated in the county of Cumberland town of Parramatta parish of Saint John and Colony of New South Wales Commencing at its north-west corner in Church-street and bounded on the north by a line of fence bearing east six degrees twenty minutes south four chains ninety-one links to the former jJublic pound dividing it from various allotmeut.s on the east by a line of fence bearing south six degrees twenty minutes west one hundred and ninety-one links dividing it from the said pound premises to a former reserved lane leading from the pound aforesaid to Church-street on the south by that lane bearing west live degrees north three hundred and ninety links to Church-street and on the south-west by Church-street bearing north­ westerly two chains twenty-seven links to the point of commencement.
