All Act to enable the Council of the Boroiigli
of Parramatta to construct establish and maintain Public Baths within the Borough of Parramatta u]ion jiart of a portion of land originally granted to the said Council as a site for a Market in Parramatta JVorth. [lO/A September, 1886.]

and .seventy-four under the hand of His Excellency Sir Ifercules llohinsou K.C'.iM.G. then Governor of the said Colony and under the Great Seal of the Colony of New South Wales All that piece or parcel of land in the said Colony containing by admeasurement one acre more or less situate in the county of Cumberland parish of Eield of Mars at Parramatta North Commencing on thclcfthankof the ParramattaPiver at a point where the eastern side of Villiers street is and hounded thence on the west by that street hearing north five degrees thirty minutes east one chain seventy-eight links to jMarket-street on the north by Market-street hearing north eighty-one degrees fifty minutes cast five chains tifty-tive links on the north-east by a line south-easterly two cliains forty-seven links to the Parramatta Piver at tlie "Windsor Poad Pridge and on the south by the Parramatta Piver u|iwards to the jioint of commencement and shown on a plan in the margin of the said grant ivas granted totlie Council of the Borough of PaiTamatta and its successors upon trust to use the said land as a site for a market and for no other use or purpose whatsoever And whereas it hath appeared that the establishment of public baths in the said Borough of Parra matta would conduce to the health and well-being of the inhabitants in the Borough and that the portion of the said grant of land which is described in tlie Schedule hereto would he a suitaldc and desirable site for sucli hatlis and that tlie residue of the said land would he sutficient for the marked purposes and requirenumts of the locality Be it there fore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty by and rvith the advice and coirsent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New youth dPales in Parliament assmnhled and by the authority of

1. I t shall he lawful for the Council of the Borough of Parra
to construct baths.
matta or its successors anything in the said recited deed of grant to the contrary notwithstanding to take and use as a site for public baths within the Borough of Parramatta the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto being part of the land described in the said recited grant and also tlu' Parramatta Piver-hed adjacent to the said land and to construct and maintain or cause to he constructed and maintained such public baths thereon and to supply the same with ^vater from the Parramatta Piver dam or reservoir or such other place or places as tliey shall tliink fit and for the said purposes to make ex cavations in the said land and river-bed respectively and to erect fences enclosures and buildings thereon respectively and lay pipes undei' and through the said land and river-bed respectively and any intervening lands not being })ri\at(' lands to the said reservoir and the said river respectively for the conveyance of w ater for tlu' supply of the said baths and the carrying olf of the waste \vater -md t(̂ do all other things which

the said Council or its successors shall from time to time deem necessary or (expedient for the maintaining the said haths efficiently and carrying into effect the ohjccts and matters ahove-mentioned.
2. I t shall he lawful for the Council of the said Borough from fo’̂ orrormoueŷ ^̂

3. I t shall he lawful for the Council of the .said Borough to Council autiiorizcd
appoint such officers and servants respectively and to make sueli hy- laws and regulations as the said Council or its successors shall from time to time deem necessary for the maintenance regulation and management of the said haths and the preservation of order and decent and litting behaviour therein and for the collection of the fees and dues and generally for more effectually accomplisliing the ohjccts of this Act and in or hy such by-laws or regulations respectively or either of them from time to time to fix the amount of fees and charges for admission to the said haths to he paid hy persons visiting or using the same respectively to the lessee or person in charge of the same for the time being and to fix hy such by-laws maximum and minimum jienal- tics for breach thereof and all such jienalties shall he recoverable in a summary way before any two Justices of the Peace Provided no such maximum ])enalty shall exc(H'd fifty-pounds And all such by-laws shall have the force of lau‘ when confirmed hy the Governor and published in the Government Gazette.
4. The production of the Government Gazette in which any r>oof ot puMication
such by-laws arc published shall in any proceeding whatever hedeemd*^^ hy-ia«s.
sufficient evidence that such by-laws have been made confirmed and
published.
5. I t shall he lawful for the said Council or its successors from Council may grant
time to time to grant leases for any term not exceeding three years of the fees or dues to arise from or to he collected at the haths either hy submitting the same to public auction or hy calling for private tenders or otherwise as the said Council or its successors shall think fit.

Alltliat piece or parcel of land coiitaininr:; by admeasurement tlireo roods and tlnrty-eight perches situate lying and being in the town of Parramatta parish of Eield of Alars county of Cumberland and Colony of Xew South Wales Coininencing at a point on the east side of Villiers-street and distant one hundred and fifty-four links southerly from its intersection with Market-.'itrcet and bounded thence on the north by a line bearing east six hundred and twenty-nine links to Church-street on the east by Church- street bearing south fifteen degrees twenty-five minutes west one hundred and forty-two links to the Parramatta Kiver on the south by the aforesaid river upwards to A'̂ illiers- street and on the west by Yilliers-street bearing north five degrees twent3’-fivo minutes east one hundred and eightj'-flve links to the point of commencement Be the said several bearings and dimensions a little more or less.
