Preamble,

f II THERE AS it is expedient that husbands being free men or

V V holding any temporary or partial remission of sentence whose

wives have been sentenced to the Eemale Factory should after the expiration of such sentence and in order to save expense to the public

within three days

by and with the advice of the Legislative Council That when and so

after the expiration

of tlieir sentence

often as any married woman being under an unexpired sentence of transportation and whose husband being free or holding any temjiorary or partial remission of sentence and residing within the Colony of New South Wales shall be sent to the Eemale Factory at Parramatta by an order or sentence of any Magistrate or other person authorized to commit such female offenders to the said factory for any prescribed and certain length of time the husband of such married woman shall within three days after the expiration of such sentence apply or send for her to the matron of the Eemale Factory and shall withdraw and shall actually receive his wife and in case of neglecting to send or apply for his wife and actually receive her as aforesaid every such
