REGULATIONS UNDER THE PARLIAMENTARY SUPERANNUATION ACT 1974

Parliamentary Superannuation Regulations 1992

Citation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Parliamentary Superannuation Regulations 1992.

Commencement

2. These regulations will come into operation on 1 January 1992.

Revocation

3. The regulations made under the Parliamentary Superannuation Act 1974 on 1 June 1978

(see Gazette 1 June 1978 p. 1886) are revoked.

Interpretation

4. In these regulations—

"the Act" means the Parliamentary Superannuation Act 1974.

Prescription of offices and positions

5. The following offices and positions are declared to be prescribed offices and positions for

the purposes of section 19 of the Act:

(a)

membership of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia or of the Parliament of any State of the Commonwealth except South Australia;

(b)

an office by virtue of which the holder of the office is a Judge as defined by section 4 of the Judges Pensions Act 1971;

(c)

judicial office established by the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act
