An Act to amend the Parliamentary Service Act 1999, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Service Amendment Act 2015.

2Commencement

This Act commences on the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent.

3Schedules

Legislation that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1Amendments

Parliamentary Service Act 1999

At the end of subsection 65A(2)

Add:

1. ; and (d)

   either:

   1. (i)

      the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police; or

   2. (ii)

      a Deputy Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police or a senior executive AFP employee (within the meaning of the Australian Federal Police Act 1979) who is nominated by the Presiding Officers in writing.

2 Subsection 65A(5)

After “management”, insert “or operation”.
