Parliamentary Secretaries Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Parliamentary Secretaries Act 1980.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Parliamentary Secretaries Regulations.

Amount of allowance

 2.(1) For the purposes of sub-section 4 (3) of the Parliamentary Secretaries Act 1980, the allowance in respect of expenses incurred by a person is —

  • (a)

    in respect of a day on which expenses are incurred in respect of an overnight stay otherwise than in Canberra or the home base of the person — $61; and

  • (b)

    in respect of any other day — $56.

 (2) In sub-regulation (1), “home base” has the same meaning as in determination number 7 of 1980 of the Remuneration Tribunal.
