AN ACT to amend the Parliamentary Salaries and

Allowances Act, 1967.

[Assented to 20th November, 1972.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Parliamen-

(2) In this Act the Parliamentary Salaries and Allowances Act, 1967, is referred to as the principal Act.

The principal Act as amended by this Act may

be cited as the Parliamentary Salaries and Allow-

ances Act, 1967-1972.

to section 4.

2. Subsection (2) of section 4 of the principal Act

is amended by adding after the word "Opposition" being the last word in paragraph (k) a passage as follows

(1) the person who is the Whip in the Legislative Council or the Legislative Assembly of a party of at least seven members other than a party whose leader is the Premier or the Leader of the Opposition and the first mentioned party in the case of the Whip in the Legislative Council has seven members or more in that House or in the case of the Whip in the Legislative Assembly has seven or more members in that House" .

3. Section 7 of the principal Act is amended by
