~ O E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with
JL) the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legisla
tive Assembly of New South Wales, in Parliament assembled, and by
the authority of the same, as follows :—
| Short title. | 1. This Act maybe cited as the “ Parliamentary Representatives |
Allowance Act.”
Allowance
| to Members of | 2. Every Member of the Legislative Assembly now serving or or referred to in the next following section, be entitled to receive, by way of reimbursement for expenses incurred by him in the discharge of his Parliamentary duties, an allowance at the rate of three hundred pounds per annum ; which allowance shall be charged on the Con solidated Revenue Eund, and be payable monthly at the rate aforesaid to every such Member of this present Legislative Assembly now serving, from the date of the passing of this Act, and to every such Member hereafter elected, from the time of his taking his seat, and in every case, until he shall resign or his seat be vacated, or until Parliament shall be dissolved, or shall expire by effluxion of time. |

| Exceptions. | 3. No Member of the said Assembly shall be entitled to the said allowance or any portion thereof while holding any office of profit specified in the Schedule to the “ Constitution Act Amendment Act of 1884,” or any other office of profit under the Crown, the acceptance of which would render vacant the seat of the person accepting the same, or while in the receipt of any official salary as Speaker of the said Assembly, or as Chairman of Committees thereof, or while in the receipt of any pension or allowance granted under any Act authorizing the grant of superannuation allowances or pensions to officers in the Public Service. Provided always that every Member of the said Assembly so in receipt of any pension or allowance as aforesaid shall be entitled to the allowance authorized by the last preceding section, subject to the abatement of such last-mentioned allowance by the amount received by him or to Avhich he may be entitled as a pension or superannuation allowance. |
