Parliamentary Remuneration (Basic Salary) Amendment Act 2012

An Act to amend the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1990.

The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1Preliminary1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Remuneration (Basic Salary) Amendment Act 2012.

2Commencement

This Act will come into operation on 1 July 2012.

3Amendment provisions

In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.

Part 2Amendment of Parliamentary Remuneration Act 19904Amendment of section 3 – Interpretation

Section 3, definition of basic salary—delete the definition and substitute:

basic salary means annual salary at a rate equal to $42 000 less than the rate from time to time of Commonwealth basic salary;
