Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to make arrangements relating to the additional office holder remuneration of Chairs of new and renamed Legislative Council committees.

This Regulation is made under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, including sections 6 (4) and 21
(the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Parliamentary Remuneration Amendment Regulation 2019.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

Omit “Investment, Industry and Regional Development Committee of the Legislative
Assembly” from Part 2.
Insert instead “Legislative Assembly Committee on Investment, Industry and Regional
Development”.

Insert after the matter relating to the Chair of the Procedure Committee of the Legislative
Council:
Chair of the Public Accountability Committee of 6.25% 6.25%

Transitional provision. On and from the commencement of the Parliamentary

Remuneration Amendment Regulation 2019, the percentages prescribed in this
Schedule, in relation to any of the following office holders, extend to any remuneration

of a person (who is such an office holder on that commencement) that relates to any period in the current Parliament during which the person held the relevant office before that commencement:

(a) the Chair of the Public Accountability Committee of the Legislative Council,
(b) the Chair of the Public Works Committee of the Legislative Council,
(c) the Chair of the Regulation Committee of the Legislative Council,
(d) the Chair of the Portfolio Committee No 2—Health,
(e) the Chair of the Portfolio Committee No 4—Industry,
(f) the Chair of the Portfolio Committee No 5—Legal Affairs,
(g) the Chair of the Portfolio Committee No 6—Transport and Customer Service,
(h) the Chair of the Portfolio Committee No 7—Planning and Environment.
