His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following
Regulation under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to make arrangements relating to the additional office holder remuneration of the Leader of the Opposition as a result of the interim Leader of the Opposition being a member of the Legislative Council rather than the Legislative Assembly.
This Regulation is made under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, including sections 6 (4) and 21
(the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Parliamentary Remuneration Amendment (Leader of the
Opposition) Regulation 2019.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

Insert after the matter relating to the Assistant Speaker of the Legislative Assembly in
Part 2:
Leader of the Opposition, when not 57% 26% Leader or Deputy Leader of the
Opposition in the Legislative Council
or Leader or Deputy Leader of the
Opposition in the Legislative
Assembly[2] Schedule 1, Part 2
Omit the matter relating to the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly.
Insert instead:
Leader of the Opposition in the 57% 26% Legislative Assembly (when leader of
a party)
Leader of the Opposition in the 0% 0% Legislative Assembly (when not
leader of a party)[3] Schedule 1, Part 2
Omit the matter relating to the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative
Assembly.Insert instead:
Deputy Leader of the Opposition in 20% (0% while Leader of 14% (0% while Leader of the Legislative Assembly the Opposition is a member the Opposition is a member
of the Legislative Council) of the Legislative Council)

Omit the matter relating to the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, when deputy leader of a party, regardless of whether the holder of the office is a member of the Legislative Assembly or the Legislative Council.
