Parliamentary Remuneration Amendment (Deputy Leader of the Opposition) Regulation 2018 (NSW)
New South Wales
Parliamentary Remuneration Amendment
(Deputy Leader of the Opposition) Regulation
2018
under the
Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989
His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following
Regulation under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989.
GLADYS BEREJIKLIAN, MP
Premier
Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to make temporary arrangements relating to the additional office holder remuneration of the Deputy Leader of the Opposition as a result of the Deputy Leader of the Opposition being a member of the Legislative Council rather than the Legislative Assembly. The temporary arrangements will apply until the day the result of the 2019 State general election is declared. The regulation also makes amendments to remove redundant provisions about temporary arrangements relating to the additional office holder remuneration of the Leader of the Opposition that applied before the 2015 State general election.
This Regulation is made under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, including sections 6 (4) and 21
(the general regulation-making power).
