Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to provide for the Chairperson of the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters to be added to the list of recognised office holders in Schedule 1 to the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989. The Chairperson will then be entitled to be paid an additional salary and an expense allowance, both at the rate of 7% of basic salary, in addition to his or her basic salary.
This Regulation is made under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, including sections

6 (4) and 21 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Parliamentary Remuneration Amendment (Chairperson of Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters) Regulation 2004.

2 Amendment of Schedule 1 to the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989

Schedule 1 to the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989 is amended by inserting at the end of Part 2:

Chairperson of the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters 7% 7%
