PARLIAMENTARY REMUNERATION ACT 1989—
REGULATION
(Relating to the salary of Whip and Deputy Whip in the Legislative
Assembly)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,
and in pursuance of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, has been
pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989 is
amended:
(a)
by inserting under the heading “Additional salary”, opposite the words “Whip in the Legislative Assembly of a recognised political party not fewer than 10 members of which are members of the Legislative Assembly”, the matter “11%”;
(b)
by inserting under the heading “Additional salary”, opposite the words “Deputy Whip in the Legislative Assembly of a recognised political party not fewer than 40 members of which are members of the Legislative Assembly”, the matter “ 11 %”.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to increase the salary of certain Whips and
Deputy Whips in the Legislative Assembly by 11%.

The increase will apply to:
| (a) | a Whip of a political party which has not fewer than 10 members in the Legislative Assembly; and |
| (b) | a Deputy Whip of a political party which has not fewer than 40 members in |
