REGULATION

(Relating to the salaries of Government and Opposition Whips in the

Legis1ative Council)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989 is amended by omitting the matter relating to the Government Whip in the Legislative Council and the Opposition Whip in the Legislative Council and by inserting instead the following matter:

Government Whip in the Legislative Council 13% 7%

Opposition Whip in the Legislative Council 13% 7%

EXPLANATORY NOTE

At present, both the Government and Opposition Whip in the Legislative Council are entitled to receive an additional salary of 11 % of their basic salary plus an expense allowance of 6% of their basic salary. The object of this Regulation is to

increase the additional salary to 13% and the expense allowance to 7%.

This Regulation is made under section 6 (4) of the Parliamentary Remuneration

Act 1989.
