REGULATION
(Relating to the salaries and expense allowances of certain office holders)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Schedule 1 to the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989 is amended by
inserting at the end of Part 2 of the Schedule the following matter:
Chairman of the Committee on the Independent
Commission Against Corruption constituted under
the Independent Commission Against Corruption
Act 1988 7% 7%
| Chairman of the Committee on the Office of the Ombudsman constituted under the Ombudsman Act 1974 | 7 % | 7% |
EXPLANATORY NOTE
Section 6 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989 provides for holders of certain offices specified in Schedule 1 (“recognised office holders”) to receive an additional salary and expense allowance as well as the basic salary to which they are entitled as Members of Parliament. The additional salary and expense allowance to be received is expressed as a percentage of the basic salary.
Since 1 July 1990 the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Joint Standing Committee on Woad Safety, Regulation Review Committee, Social Issues Committee of the Legislative Council and State Development Committee of the Legislative Council have been specified as recognised office holders.

The object of this Regulation is to amend Schedule 1 to specify the Chairmen of the Joint Committees on the Independent Commission Against Corruption and the Office of the Ombudsman as recognised office holders who are each entitled to receive an additional salary and expense allowance of 7 per cent of their basic Salary.
