(Relating to the additional salary and expense allowance of the Chairman of the

Committee on the Health Care Complaints Commission)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Schedule 1 to the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989 is amended by

inserting at the end of Part 2 of the Schedule the following matter:

Chairman of the Committee on the Health Care Complaints Commission constituted under the Health Care Complaints Act 1993

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 6 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989 provides for holders of
certain offices specified in Schedule 1 (“recognised office holders”) to receive an
additional salary and expense allowance as well as the basic salary to which they are
entitled as members of Parliament. The additional salary and expense allowance to be
received is expressed as a percentage of the basic salary.

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Schedule to specify the Chairman of the Committee on the Health Care Complaints Commission as a recognised office holder who is entitled to receive an additional salary and expense allowance of 7 per cent of the member’s basic salary.

This Regulation is made under section 6 (4) of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act
