Amendment (Chairman—JSC on Small

Business) Regulation 1997

Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act

1989.

Explanatory note

Section 6 of the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989 provides for holders of certain offices (“recognised office holders”) specified in Schedule 1 to the Act to receive an additional salary and expense allowance as well as the basic salary to which they are entitled as Members of Parliament. The additional salary and expense allowance to be received is expressed as a percentage of the basic salary.

The object of this Regulation is to increase the remuneration of the
Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Small Business.

This Regulation is made under the Parliamentary Remuneration Act 1989, including sections 6 and 21 (the general regulation making power).
