PARLIAMENTARY ALLOWANCES AND

SALARIES (AMENDMENT) ACT.

Act No. 7, 1974.

An Act to make further provisions with regard to the salaries and allowances of Members of the Legislative Council, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Ministers of the Crown and the holders of certain other offices; for these purposes to amend the Constitution Act, 1902, and the Parliamentary Allowances and Salaries Act, 1956; and for purposes connected therewith. Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 . This Act may be cited as the "Parliamentary

Allowances and Salaries (Amendment) Act, 1974".

2.     This Act shall be deemed to have commenced on 1st

January, 1974.

3. The Constitution Act, 1902, is amended—

(a)	(i)	by omitting from section 17G the words "four thousand dollars" and by inserting instead the words "five thousand two hundred dollars";
(ii)	by omitting from section 17G the words "two thousand dollars" and by inserting instead the words "two thousand four hundred dollars";

(b)

by omitting from section 28 the words "eleven thousand five hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "fourteen thousand four hundred

dollars";

(c)

(i)	by omitting from Part I of the Fifth Schedule the matter "$2,750" and by inserting instead the matter "$3,300";
(ii)	by omitting from Part II of the Fifth Schedule the matter "$2,850" and by inserting instead the matter "$3,420";

(iii)

(iii)   by omitting from Part III of the Fifth Schedule the matter "$3,230" and by inserting instead the matter "$3,880";

(iv)   by omitting from Part IV of the Fifth Schedule the matter "$3,580" and by inserting instead the matter "$4,300";

(v)   by omitting from Part V of the Fifth Schedule the matter "$3,680" and by inserting instead the matter "$4,420";

(vi)   by omitting from Part VI of the Fifth Schedule the matter "$4,100" and by inserting instead the matter "$4,920".

4 .      The Parliamentary Allowances and Salaries Act, 1956,

is amended—

(a)	(i)	by omitting from section 2 (2) (a) the words "twelve thousand dollars" and by inserting instead the words "fifteen thousand dollars";
(ii)	by omitting from section 2 (2) (a) the words "two thousand five hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "three thousand dollars";
(iii)	by omitting from section 2 (2) (a) the words "two thousand dollars" and by inserting instead the words "two thousand four hundred
dollars";
(iv)	by omitting from section 2 (2) (b) the words "one thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "two thousand one hundred dollars";
(v)	by omitting from section 2 (2) (c) the words "five hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "six hundred dollars";

(vi)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (d) the words "seven thousand two hundred and seventy-five dollars" and by inserting instead the words "nine thousand two hundred dollars";

(vii)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (d) the words "two thousand four hundred and sixty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "two thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars";

(viii)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (d) the words "five hundred and fifteen dollars" and by inserting instead the words "six hundred and twenty dollars";

(ix)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (e) the words "eight thousand five hundred and ten dollars" and by inserting instead the words "ten thousand seven hundred dollars";

(x)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (e) the words "two thousand four hundred and sixty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "two thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars";

(xi)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (e) the words "one thousand and thirty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "one thousand two hundred and thirty-five dollars";

(xii)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (f) the words "four thousand seven hundred and twenty dollars" and by inserting instead the words

"six thousand one hundred dollars";
(xiii)	by omitting from section 2 (2) (f) the words "two thousand four hundred and sixty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "two thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars";
(xiv)	by omitting from section 2 (2) (f) the words "five hundred and twenty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "six hundred and twenty dollars";

(xv)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (g) the words "four thousand seven hundred and twenty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "six thousand one hundred dollars";

(xvi)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (g) the words "two thousand four hundred and sixty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "two thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars";

(xvii)   by omitting from section 2 (2) (g) the words "five hundred and twenty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "six hundred and twenty dollars";

(xviii)   by omitting from section 2 (3) the words "twenty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "thirty-two dollars";

(b) (i) by omitting from section 4 (a) the words "twenty-six thousand dollars" and by inserting instead the words "thirty-two thousand one hundred and fifty dollars";

(ii)   by omitting from section 4 (a) the words "six thousand dollars" and by inserting instead the words "seven thousand two hundred dollars";

(iii)   by omitting from section 4 (b) the words "twenty-three thousand two hundred and fifty dollars" and by inserting instead the words "twenty-eight thousand seven hundred and

fifty dollars";

(iv)   by omitting from section 4 (b) the words "three thousand dollars" and by inserting instead the words "three thousand six hundred dollars";

(v)   by omitting from section 4 (c) the words "twenty-one thousand eight hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "twenty- seven thousand dollars";

(vi)   by omitting from section 4 (c) the words "two thousand seven hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "three thousand two hundred and forty dollars";

(c)	(i)	by omitting from section 5(1) (a) the words "eight thousand eight hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "ten thousand eight hundred dollars";
(ii)	by omitting from section 5 (1) (a) the words "two thousand seven hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "three thousand two hundred and forty dollars";
(iii)	by omitting from section 5 (1) (b) the words "three thousand dollars" and by inserting instead the words "three thousand seven hundred dollars";
(iv)	by omitting from section 5 (1) (b) the words "one thousand five hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "one thousand eight hundred dollars";
(v)	by omitting from section 5 (1) (c) the words "eight thousand eight hundred dollars" and by inserting instead the words "ten thousand eight hundred dollars";
