PAKLIAMENTARY ALLOWANCES

AND SALARIES ACT.

Act No. 48, 1932,

An Act to reduce the allowances to Members of the Legislative Assembly and the salaries of Ministers of the Crown and of certain other persons; to amend the Constitution Act, 1902, as amended by subsecjuent Acts, and certain other Acts; to repeal the Parlia- mentary Allowances and Salaries Act, 1930; and for purposes connected therewith. [As- sented to, 21st December, 1932.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of
the same, as follows :—

1 . (1) This Act may be cited as the " Parliamentary Allowances and Salaries Act, 1932."

(2);

(2) The Const i tut ion Act, 1902, as amended by subsequent Acts, is in this Act refer red to as the P r in ­ cipal Act,

(3) This Act shall be deemed to have commenced

on the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred

and thir ty- two.

2. The Public Service Salar ies Act, 1931-1932, is

amended—

(a)

by inserting in the definition of the wore. " Officer " after the words " the P r i v a t e Secre­ t a ry to His Excellency the Governor " the words " any person whose sa lary or allowance is reduced by the P a r l i a m e n t a r y Allowances and Salar ies Act, 1932 " ;

(b) by omit t ing subsection four of section four.

3. The Pr inc ipa l Act is amended—

(a) by omitting from section twenty-eight the words " Seven hundred and forty-three pounds fifteen shillings " and by inser t ing in lieu thereof the words " Six hundred and seventy pounds " ;
(b) by omitting from the same section the words " Two hundred and fifty " and by inser t ing in lieu thereof the words " One hundred and seventy-s ix ."

4.     The Pr inc ipa l Act is fur ther amended—

(a) by omitting from subsection one of section forty-
three pounds five shillings " and by inser t ing in one the words " twenty-two thousand and fifty-
lieu thereof the words " twenty-one thousand
seven hundred and ninety pounds " ;
(b) by omit t ing from the Th i rd Schedule the figures

" 1,653 5 0 " and by inser t ing in lieu thereof the

figures " 1,390 0 0 " ;

(c)

by omitting from the said Third Schedule the figures " 14,003 5 0 " and by inser t ing in lieu thereof the figures " 13,740 0 0 . "

There is hereby specially app rop r i a t ed out of the Consolidated Revenue F u n d an annual amount for the payment as from the commencement of this Act of the salar ies of the Minis ters of the Crown, being members of the Execut ive Council, as here inaf ter mentioned, at the r a t e of sixteen thousand seven hundred and twenty-four p o u n d s : —
