Order regarding volunteers taking part in emergency operations

under the

State Emergency and Rescue Management Act 1989

I, Mark Smethurst, Commissioner of the State Emergency Service, in pursuance of section 60D of the State Emergency and Rescue Management Act 1989, do, by this my Order, direct that the provisions of Part 3A of that Act apply to emergency operations carried out by the following persons in connection with the emergency caused by storms in the State:

(a) all volunteer rural fire fighters within the meaning of the Rural Fires Act 1997,
(b) all volunteer emergency workers from the State Emergency Service and any NSW Volunteer Rescue Association unit taking part in emergency operations in response to those storms.

This Order remains in force for 48 hours from the time and date of its publication on the NSW legislation website (unless sooner revoked).
