AREA (STRAYING CATTLE).

No. 56 of 1969.

AN ACT to amend the Ord River Dam Catchment

Area (Straying Cattle) Act, 1967.

[Assented to 29th September, 1969.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

and citation. 1. ( 1) This Act may be cited as the Ord River

Dam Catchment Area (Straying Cattle) Act

Amendment Act, 1969.

(2) In this Act the Ord River Dam Catchment Area (Straying Cattle) Act, 1967 is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Ord River Dam Catchment Area (Straying Cattle) Act, 1967-1969.

2. Section 3 of the principal Act is amended— amended.

(a)	by adding after the word, "in" in line five of subsection (1), the passage "Part I of"; and
(b)	by adding after subsection (1) the follow- ing subsection

(la) Notwithstanding the provisions of any other Act or law, the property in and the right to possession of any cattle that are, on or after the first day of January, 1970, at large anywhere within the area of land described in Part II of the Schedule to this Act, are vested in the Crown, and any such cattle may be dealt with or disposed of in such manner as the Minister from time to time directs. .

Schedule

3. The Schedule to the principal Act is amended.

amended

(a)	by adding immediately under the heading "SCHEDULE", the passage "PART I."; and
(b)	by adding at the end thereof, the follow- ing

All that area of land formerly comprised in

(a) the whole of Pastoral Lease No. 396/780 resumed under section 109 of the Land Act, 1933-1965 for the purpose of "Regeneration of eroded areas in the Ord River Dam Catchment Area" by proclamation published in the Government Gazette on the 15th December, 1967;

(b)	the portion of Pastoral Lease No. 3114/703 resumed for the purpose referred to in paragraph (a) of this Part by proclamation published in the Government Gazette on the 14th April, 1967, and described in Schedule 3 to that proclamation; and
(c)	the portions of Pastoral Leases Nos. 396/777 and 396/555 resumed for the purpose referred to in paragraph (a) of this Part by proclamation pub- lished in the Government Gazette on the 30th June, 1967, and described in Schedules 1 and 2 to that proclama- tion. .
