the rublic Works Act, l'.)]2, the Legislative Assemhly did, by resolution, declare that it was exdedient to carry out a certain work, namely, the carrying out ot a scheme of water supply for the municipality or Orange : And whereas, on the passing of the said resolution, a statutory duty was by the said Act imposed on the Minister to introduce a Bill into the said Assembly to sanction the carrying out of the said Avorks : Be it therefore enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assemhly of Neiv South “Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as folloAvs :—

Short title.

1. Tliis Act may be cited as the “ Orange 'Water

Supply Act, 1915.”

described in the Selicdule to this Act) is hereby sanctioned, and the Minister for Eublic 'IVorks, or the member of the Executive Council for the time being performing the duties of the said Minister, is hereby authorised to undertake and carry out the said Avoi'ks, subject to the provisions of this Act, and for that purpose shall be and shall have the poAvers of a Constructing Authority AAithin the meaning of the Pulilic “Works Act, 1912.

4. The cost of carrying out the said works, estimated Cost, and

at forty-nine thousand one hundred and sixty pounds

(exclusive of land resurnjrtions), may be defrayed from

such Loan Azotes as are now or may hereafter be api)licable to the purpose, or from appropriations of the Public AA'orks Lund, or partly from such votes and partly from such appropriations, and sliall not, under any circumstances, exceed the estimated cost by more than ten per cenlirtn.
