AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Optometrists Ordinance 1956-1970.

, Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council,

(Administration) Act 1910-1970.

OPTOMETRISTS ORDINANCE 1971

1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Optometrists

Ordinance 1971.*

(2.) The Optometrists Ordinance 1956-1970f is in this Ordinance

referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may

be cited as the Optometrists Ordinance 1956-1971.

2.  Section 4 of the Principal Ordinance is amended— (a) by inserting in sub-section (1.), after the definition of

Authorised by the ACT Parliamentary Counsel—also accessible at

" Territory ", the following definition:—

" ' the Assistant Director ' means the person for the time being occupying, or performing the duties of, the office of Assistant Director, Department of Health, Australian Capital Territory;"; and

(b) by omitting from that sub-section the definition of " the Director ".

3. Section 6 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting

from sub-sections (1.) and (2.) the word "Director" and inserting in

its stead the words " Assistant Director ".
