1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Optometrists .,

(2.) The Optometrists Ordinance 1956f is in this Ordinance
referred to as the Principal Ordinance.
(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordi-
nance, may be cited as the Optometrists Ordinance 1956-1957.

Section four of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from the definition of " optometry " in sub-section (1.) all the words after paragraph (b) and inserting in their stead the words " but does not include the dispensing of prescriptions for spectacles made or given by a medical practitioner or the craft of lens-grinding and spectacles-making; ". | Imerpretation. |

| registration. | 4. Section fifteen of the Principal Ordinance is amended— (a) by inserting in sub-section (l.)» after the word " person ", the words ", and upon payment by |
that person of a fee of One pound "; and
(b) by omitting from sub-section (3.) the words ", upon payment of a fee of One pound,".
5. After section thirty-three of the Principal Ordinance, the
following section is inserted:—
| Sale of | " 33A.—(1.) A person other than a registered optometrist shall not sell spectacles except in accordance with a prescription written by a medical practitioner or by a registered optometrist and produced to him by the person to whom the spectacles are sold. |
