Ombudsman Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Ombudsman Act 1976.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, "Principal Regulations" means the Ombudsman Regulations.

Allowances

2. Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting paragraphs (a) and (b) and substituting the following paragraphs:

"(a) in relation to the Ombudsman—the allowances payable to the Secretary of a Department of the Australian Public Service;

(b) in relation to a Deputy Ombudsman—the allowances payable to a Senior Executive Service officer of the Australian Public Service.".

Schedule 1

3. Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting—

"Anglo-Australian Telescope Board";

(b) by omitting—

"Christmas Island Phosphate Commission"; and

(c) by inserting in its proper alphabetical position in that Schedule each of the bodies specified in Schedule 1 to these Regulations.

4. Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule substituted:

Schedule 3

5. Schedule 3 to the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting—

"Christmas Island Arbitrator"

after—

"Chairman of the Remuneration Tribunal"; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof—

"President of the Security Appeals Tribunal".

Schedule 4

6. Schedule 4 to the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting—

"Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization Executive Officer"; and

(b) by inserting—

(i) in Column 1 of that Schedule, in its proper alphabetical position—each of the prescribed authorities specified in Column 1 of Schedule 2 to these Regulations; and

(ii) in Column 2 of that first-mentioned Schedule, opposite to each such prescribed authority specified in Column 1—the corresponding principal office specified in Column 2 of Schedule 2 to these Regulations.
