Ombudsman Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
REGULATIONS UNDER THE
OMBUDSMAN ACT 1976

Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the

AMENDMENTS OF THE OMBUDSMAN REGULATIONS
1. After regulation 6 of the Ombudsman Regulations the following regulations are inserted:
Application of allowances of First Division Officer and a Second Division Officer
“7. Subject to any determination made under the
Remuneration Tribunals Act 1973, the Ombudsman, or a Deputy Ombudsman, is entitled to be paid such allowances as would be payable to him under the Public Service Regulations as in force from time to time if he were an officer in the Australian Public Service and were included–
(a) in the case of the Ombudsman–in the First Division; or
(b) in the case of a Deputy Ombudsman–in the Second Division.
Terms and conditions of holding office
“8. In respect of matters not provided for in the Act–
(a) the Ombudsman holds office on such of the terms and conditions not inconsistent with the Act or other provisions of these Regulations as would be applicable to him if he were an officer in the Australian Public Service and were included in the First Division; and
(b) a Deputy Ombudsman holds office on such of the terms and conditions not inconsistent with the Act or other provisions of these Regulations as would be applicable to him if he were an officer in the Australian Public Service and were included in the Second Division.
Principal officers
“9. For the purposes of the definition of ‘principal officer’ in section 3 of the Act, an office specified in column 2 of Schedule 4 is declared to be the principal office in respect of the prescribed authority specified opposite to that office in column 1 of that Schedule.”.
Schedule 2
2. Schedule 2 to the Omubudsman Regulations is amended by omitting “Commonwealth Hostels Limited” and substituting “Commonwealth Accommodation and Catering Services Limited”.

3. The Ombudsman Regulations are amended by adding at the end thereof the following Schedule:
