An Act to amend the Ombudsman Act 1974 to enable an acting Ombudsman, the Deputy Ombudsman or an Assistant Ombudsman to investigate the conduct of a member of the Police Force. [Assented to, 10th December, 1985.]

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows;
Short title
| 1. | This Act may be cited as the | ‘Ombudsman (Police Regulation) |
Amendment Act 1985” .
Amendment of Act No. 68, 1974
2. The Ombudsman Act 1974 is amended in the manner set forth in
Schedule 1.
Validation
3. All things done or omitted to be done at any time before the
commencement of this Act that would have been valid had the amendments
made by this Act been in force at that time are validated.

AMENDMENTS TO THE OMBUDSMAN ACT 1974
(1) Section 10 (Delegation)—
Section 10 (2) (e)—
After “otherwise than”, insert “to an Assistant Ombudsman or”.
(2) Section 32 (Staff)—
Section 32 (5)— the Deputy Ombudsman or an Assistant Ombudsman)”.
