I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under the Ombudsman Act 1978 .22 December 1999

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Ombudsman Order 1999 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal ActIn this order, the Ombudsman Act 1978 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Schedule 1 amended (Government Departments and Other Authorities to which this Act applies) Schedule 1 to the Principal Act is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from item 2(b) "a controlling authority" and substituting "a single authority, controlling authority"; (b) by omitting item 4 ; (c) by omitting from item 5 "Board" and substituting "Tribunal"; (d) by omitting item 6 and substituting the following item: 6.   Anti-Discrimination Commissioner appointed under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 . (e) by omitting item 8 ; (f) by omitting from item 10A "Assessment"; (g) by omitting items 11 and 12 ; (h) by omitting item 16 and substituting the following item: 16.   The following bodies established under the Education Act 1994 : (a) Tasmanian Secondary Assessment Board; (b) Schools Registration Board; (c) a school council. (i) by omitting items 18 , 19 and 20 and substituting the following items: 17A.   The person appointed as the Regulator under the Electricity Supply Industry Act 1995 . 18.   A committee established by the Board of Environmental Management and Pollution Control under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 . (j) by inserting in item 21 ", Forest Practices Board" after " section 6 of the Forestry Act 1920 "; (k) by omitting item 22 and substituting the following items: 21A.   Government Prices Oversight Commission established under the Government Prices Oversight Act 1995 . 22.   Guardianship and Administration Board established under the Guardianship and Administration Act 1995 . (l) by inserting in item 23 "Registration" after “Hairdressers’”; (m) by omitting items 24 and 25 and substituting the following item: 24.   Health Complaints Commissioner appointed under the Health Complaints Act 1995 . (n) by omitting item 28 ; (o) by inserting in item 32 "of Tasmania" after "Commission"; (p) by inserting the following item after item 32 : 33.   The following bodies constituted or established under the Libraries Act 1984 : (a) Tasmanian Library Advisory Board; (b) a Regional Library Advisory Committee; (c) State Library and Archives Trust; (d) Allport Library; (e) Museum of Fine Arts Management Committee. (q) by omitting from item 34 "of Tasmania" and substituting "established under the Liquor and Accommodation Act 1990 "; (r) by omitting item 35 and substituting the following items: 35.   Marine and Safety Authority established under the Marine and Safety Authority Act 1997 . 36.   Mental Health Tribunal established under the Mental Health Act 1996 . 37.   Motor Accidents Insurance Board. (s) by omitting items 39 , 40 and 41 ; (t) by omitting item 43 ; (u) by inserting in item 44 "established under the Corrections Act 1997 " after "Board"; (v) by inserting the following item after item 44 : 44A.   Planning authorities established under any Act. (w) by omitting from item 46 "Police Provident Fund Board and any" and substituting "Any"; (x) by omitting item 47 and substituting the following items: 47.   Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority. 48.   Printing Authority of Tasmania. 48A.   Public Guardian. 48B.   Public Trustee (The). 48C.   Publications Classification Board. 49.   Racing Tasmania. (zb) by omitting items 59 and 60 and substituting the following items: 59.   TAFE Tasmania. 60.   Tasmania Development and Resources. 61.   Tasmania Fire Service established under the Fire Service Act 1979 . 61A.   Tasmanian Ambulance Service. (zc) by omitting item 63 ; (zd) by omitting from item 64 "and the Dairy Industry Advisory Board"; (ze) by omitting item 65 and substituting the following item: 65.   Tasmanian Gaming Commission. (zf) by omitting items 68 , 69 and 70 and substituting the following items: 68.   Tasmanian Greyhound Racing Council. 70.   Tasmanian Harness Racing Council. 70A.   Tasmanian International Velodrome Management Authority. 70B.   Tasmanian Public Finance Corporation. 70C.   Tasmanian Thoroughbred Racing Council. (zg) by omitting item 72 and substituting the following item: 72.   Tourism Tasmania. (zh) by inserting in item 73 "incorporated under the Transport Act 1981 " after "Commission"; (zi) by omitting item 77 and substituting the following items: 77.   The following bodies continued, established or declared under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 : (a) Tasmanian State Training Authority; (b) Tasmanian Training Agreements Committee; (c) Tasmanian Accreditation and Recognition Committee; (d) an advisory committee; (e) an industry training advisory board. 78.   A water entity under the Water Management Act 1999 . 79.   Workplace Safety Board of Tasmania established under the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 .
