Act No. 136, 1987

An Act to amend the Ombudsman Act 1974 in consequence of the enactment of the Police Regulation (Allegations of Misconduct) Amendment Act 1987. [Assented to 16 June 1987]

Ombudsman (Amendment) 1987

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Short title

L This Act may be cited as the “Ombudsman (Amendment) Act 1987”.

Commencement

(1) Sections 1 and 2 shall commence on the date of assent to this (2) Except as provided by subsection (1), this Act shall commence on the day appointed and notified under section 2 of the Police Regulation (Allegations of Misconduct) Amendment Act 1987,

Amendment of Act No. 68, 1974, s. 5 (Interpretation)

3. The Ombudsman Act 1974 is amended by inserting in section 5 (1a)

before the matter “section 25a (1)” the matter “section 24a (1) or” .
