Olympic Arrangements Act 2000 New South Wales

No 1—Proclamation

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Olympic Arrangements Act 2000, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2000 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) Part 3, and

(b) Schedule 1.

Explanatory note

The object of this proclamation is to commence so much of the Olympic Arrangements Act 2000 as sets out provisions that are to be construed as part of the Banks and Bank Holidays Act 1912 and the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962 for the purposes of the Olympic Games. Parts 1 and 11 of the Olympic Arrangements Act 2000 commenced on the date of assent.
