AN ACT to amend the Off-shore (Application of

Laws) Act, 1977.

[Assented to 17th December, 1979.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Off-shore

(Application of Laws) Act Amendment Act, 1979.

In this Act the Off-shore (Application of Laws) Act, 1977, is referred to as the principal Act.

This Act shall come into operation on a day

to be fixed by proclamation.

Section 3

Section 3 of the principal Act is amended by

amended.

deleting subsection (2) and substituting a new

subsection as follows

(2) Nothing in subsection (1) of this section shall

be taken

(a)

to limit the operation of any written law of the State intended to operate beyond the adjacent off-shore area; or

(b)

to apply the provisions of the criminal laws within the meaning of the Crimes (Offences at Sea) Act, 1979, in force in the State to or in relation to any act or omission to which subsection (1) of section six of that Act applies. .
