Citation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Occupational Therapists Regulations, 1988.

Revocation

2. All regulations previously made under the Occupational Therapists Act, 1974, are revoked.

Interpretation

3. In these regulations—

"the Act" means the Occupational Therapists Act, 1974.

Qualifications for registration

4. The qualifications set out in Schedule 1 are prescribed for the purposes of section 11(1)(c)(i)

of the Act.

Application for registration

5. (1) An application for registration under the Act must be accompanied by the appropriate fee

set out in Schedule 3.

(2) An applicant must supply the Board with such information as the Board or the Registrar may

require.

Application for renewal of registration

6. An application for renewal of registration must be made in the form set out in Schedule 2 and

must be accompanied by the appropriate fee set out in Schedule 3.

Refund of fee by Board

7. A fee paid for registration or renewal of registration will be refunded to the applicant if the

application is not granted by the Board.

Board to issue certificate

8. The Board will issue a certificate of registration to every successful applicant for registration

or renewal of registration under the Act.

Information required by s. 14b of the Act

9. For the purposes of section 14b(c) of the Act the following information is prescribed:

(a)

the likely duration of the patient’s condition;

(b)

a prognosis of the patient’s condition;

(c)

any finding that suggests that the patient should not practise in a particular branch of occupational therapy;

(d)

if the patient has received or is receiving treatment for a psychiatric condition, whether or not he or she has at any time been a patient within the meaning of the Mental Health Act,

1. Diploma in Technology in Occupational Therapy conferred by the South Australian Institute of

Technology.

2. Degree of Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy conferred by the South Australian

Institute of Technology.

3. Diploma in Occupational Therapy conferred by the Western Australian Institute of Technology.

4. Associateship in Occupational Therapy conferred by the Western Australian Institute of Technology.

5. Degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) conferred by the Western Australian

Institute of Technology.

6. Diploma in Occupational Therapy conferred by the University of Queensland.

7. Degree of Bachelor of Occupational Therapy conferred by the University of Queensland.

8. Degree of Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) conferred by the University of Queensland.

9. Degree of Master of Occupational Therapy conferred by the University of Queensland.

10. Diploma of Occupational Therapy conferred by the Lincoln Institute School of Occupational Therapy of

Victoria.

11. Degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) conferred by the Lincoln Institute School

of Occupational Therapy of Victoria.

12. Diploma in Occupational Therapy conferred by the Cumberland College of Health Sciences of New

South Wales.

13. Diploma of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) conferred by the Cumberland College of Health

Sciences of New South Wales.

14. Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy conferred by the Cumberland College of Health Sciences of

New South Wales.

15. Degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) conferred by the Cumberland College of

Health Sciences of New South Wales.
