Occupational Safety and Health Amendment

Regulations 2011

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

3. Regulations amended
These regulations amend the Occupational Safety and Ilealth
Regulations 1996.

1.            Citation

These regulations are the Occupational Safety and Health
Amendment Regulations 2011.

2.            Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)

regulations 1 and 2— on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette;

(b) the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

4.            Regulation 5.1 amended

In regulation 5.1(1) delete the definition of asbestos and insert:

asbestos means the asbestiform variety of any mineral
silicate belonging to the serpentine or amphibole group
of rock-forming minerals and includes the asbestiform

variety of the following —

(a) actinolite;

(b)

grunerite or amosite (known as brown asbestos);

(c) anthophyllite;

(d) chrysotile (known as white asbestos);
(e) crocidolite (known as blue asbestos);

(f) tremolite;
