Citation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare (Health

and First Aid) Regulations 1991.

Commencement

2. These regulations will come into operation on 1 November 1991.

Interpretation

3. In these regulations—

"the Act" means the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act 1986.

First aid in the workplace

4. (1) Pursuant to section 19(1)(b) of the Act, occupational health and first aid facilities are prescribed as facilities that must be provided by an employer for the welfare of his or her employees.

(2) The Commission may approve courses of training for the purpose of establishing

appropriate standards in relation to the provision of first aid under the Act.
