Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, william patrick deane, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Act 1991 and the Productivity Commission (Repeals, Transitional and Consequential Amendments) Act 1998.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on gazettal.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 4 (What is an employing authority?)

3.1   Subparagraph 4 (b) (ii):

Omit the subparagraph.

3.2   Subparagraph 4 (b) (iv):

Omit the subparagraph, substitute:

  • “(iv)

    the Department of the Treasury:

    • (A)

      the Chair of the Productivity Commission; and

    • (B)

      the Controller of the Royal Australian Mint.”.

4.   Application of amendment

4.1   The amendment made by regulation 3 has effect from the commencement of the Productivity Commission Act 1998.
