NOTICE OF APPROVAL AND AMENDMENT

Notice No. 1 of 1993

I, Peter Francis Salmon Cook, Minister for Industrial Relations, under Section 70 of the Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Act 1991 (in this notice referred to as “the Act”), on and from the date of publication of this Notice in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette, hereby approve the following matters:

1.   For the purposes of subsection 70(1) of the Act, the following code of practice prepared by the Commission:

(a)    Code of Practice for the Protection of workers from the Ultraviolet Radiation in Sunlight – incorporating the NOHSC Guidance Note for the Protection of Workers from the Ultraviolet Radiation in Sunlight, [NOHSC: 3012 (1991)].

2.   For the purposes of subsection 70(1) of the Act, the amendment to the following code of practice prepared by the Commission:

(a)    Code of Practice for Manual Handling incorporating the addition of the NOHSC Guidance Note for Manual Handling in the Retail Industry, [NOHSC: 3014 (1992)].

3.   For the purposes of subsection 70(3) of the Act, the code of practice approved at paragraph 1 and the code of practice amended at paragraph 2 incorporate documents as amended by the body from time to time.

4.   For the purposes of subsection 70(4) (a) of the Act, the code of practice approved in paragraph 1 and the code of practice amended at paragraph 2 of this notice are to apply generally.
