Oaths and Affirmations (Affidavits, Statutory Declarations and Certifications) Amendment Regulations 2019

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Oaths and Affirmations (Affidavits, Statutory Declarations and Certifications) Regulations 2018 to prescribe a class of authorised affidavit takers.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 52 of the Oaths and Affirmations Act 2018.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 March 2019.

4Prescribed authorised affidavit takers

In regulation 5(2) of the Oaths and Affirmations (Affidavits, Statutory Declarations and Certifications) Regulations 2018[1]—

(a)in paragraph (d), for "described." substitute "described;";

(b)after paragraph (d) insert—

"(e)persons employed under Part 3 of the Public Administration Act 2004 with a classification level of 2 or 3, however described, in a court or tribunal when acting in the course of their duties in relation to that court or tribunal.".
