AN ACT to amend the Nurses Registration Act, 1921-1956, to provide for Additional Members of the Nurses Registration Board.

[Assented to 6th December, 1957.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. ( 1) This Act may be cited as the Nurses

Registration Act Amendment Act (No. 2), 1957.

amendments to and including Act No. 41 of 1952 and as further amended by Acts Nos. 61 of 1953, 33 of 1956, and 19 of 1957,

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Nurses Registration Act, 1921- 1957.

2. Section two of the principal Act is amended

amended.

(a)

by substituting for the word, "nine" in line one of subsection (2), the word, "thirteen";

(b)

by adding after subparagraph (ii) of para- graph (a) of subsection (4) the following subparagraphs:

(ha) The Principal Matron of the Public

Health Department ex officio;

(iib) An officer of the Department of Education who is a specialist in general education, and nominated by the Minister for Education;

(c)

by substituting for the words "Two senior" in line seven of subsection (4) the word "Four"; and

(d)

by deleting the full stop after the word "nursing" in line eleven of subsection (4) and adding the following passage:— ",another of whom shall be a tutor, another of whom shall be a general trained nurse, and another of whom shall be a mental trained nurse qualified for registration as a general trained nurse."
