1Name of Regulation

This Regulation may be cited as the Nurses (Last Board Examination) Regulation 1992.

2Commencement

This Regulation commences on 13 March 1992.

3Last Board examination

The last examination held by the Board for registration as nurses, authorisation to practise midwifery or enrolment as enrolled nurses and enrolled nurses (mothercraft):

  • (a)

    is to take place on such date in June or July in 1992, and at such locations, as the Board determines, and

  • (b)

    is to be in such subjects as the Board determines.

4Eligibility to sit last Board examination(1)

A person is eligible to sit the examination if:

  • (a)

    the person has completed training to the Board’s satisfaction, and

  • (b)

    the person furnishes to the Registrar an application to sit the examination, evidence of the person’s age, an examination fee of $21, and any other documentation that the Board may require to determine the person’s identity and qualifications.

(2)

A person is not eligible to sit the examination if:

  • (a)

    the person has failed examinations held by the Board for similar purposes 3 or more times since 30 June 1984, or

  • (b)

    more than 4 years have passed since the first occasion when the person sat such an examination and the date on which the Registrar receives the person’s application under this clause.

5Refund of examination fee

The Board is to refund the examination fee of $21 to any person who applies under this Regulation but who the Board determines is not eligible to sit the last Board examination.
