AN ACT to amend the Nurses Act, 1968-1970.

[Assented to 18th October, 1973.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Nurses Act ,T,,,,rAtkvi?,„,

Amendment Act, 1973.

(2) In this Act the Nurses Act, 1968-1970 is

referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may

be cited as the Nurses Act, 1968-1973.

Section 16

amended. 2. Section 16 of the principal Act is amended

(a) as to subsection (1)-

(i)    by deleting the word "and" in the last line of paragraph (a);

(ii)    by deleting the passage "gift." in the last line of paragraph (b) and sub- stituting the passage "gift;" ; and

(iii)    by adding after paragraph (b) the following paragraphs

(c)	moneys borrowed by the Board pursuant to subsection (la) of this section; and
(d)	moneys appropriated from time to time by Parliament for the purposes of this Act. ; and

(b) by adding after subsection (1) the follow- ing subsections

(la) The Board may with the approval of the Treasurer and subject to such terms and conditions as the Treasurer approves borrow moneys, and may for that purpose mortgage or charge any of its real or personal property.

( lb) The Treasurer on behalf of the State is hereby authorized to guarantee, on such terms and conditions as he thinks fit, repayment of any money borrowed by the Board under this section and the payment of interest thereon.

(lc) The Treasurer shall cause any money required for fulfilling any guaran- tee given by him pursuant to this section to be paid out of the Public Account, which Account is hereby to the necessary extent appropriated accordingly, and the Treasurer shall cause any sums received or recovered by him from the Board or otherwise in respect of a sum so paid by the Treasurer to be paid into the Public Account. .
