These Regulations may be cited as the
These Regulations commence on the day on which they are notified in the
For section 5(4)(b) of the Act, the following are the prescribed projects:
(a) the Bayu-Undan Project, involving the exploration, recovery and exploitation activities in the Bayu-Undan Gas Field approved originally under
Timor Sea Treaty , Australian Treaty Series Number [2003] ATS 13, made in Dili on 20 May 2002;(b) the Blacktip Project, involving the exploration, recovery and exploitation activities in the Blacktip field approved under the
Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (Cth);(c) the Ichthys Project, involving the exploration, recovery and exploitation activities in the Ichthys Field approved under the
Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (Cth);(d) the Montara Development Project, involving the exploration, recovery and exploitation activities in the Montara (AC/L7), and Skua, Swift and Swallow (AC/L8) fields approved under the
Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (Cth);(e) the Prelude Project, involving the exploration, recovery and exploitation activities in the Prelude-Concerto Field approved under the
Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (Cth).
For section 5(4)(b)(i) of the Act, the following are examples of significant economic and social benefits:
(a) using Darwin as a supply base for the project;
(b) providing or funding physical or social infrastructure;
(c) providing or funding education or training;
(d) providing direct or indirect employment during the construction and operation of the project;
(e) providing opportunities for ancillary businesses or employment to service the project;
(f) providing benefits specifically to Aboriginal communities;
(g) providing assistance or funding to cultural events or community groups;
(h) providing or funding specialised information or research of relevance to the Territory.
(1) For section 5(4)(b)(ii) of the Act, the following sedimentary basins are prescribed:
(a) Arafura Basin;
(b) Bonaparte Basin;
(c) Browse Basin;
(d) Carpentaria Basin;
(e) Money Shoal Basin.
(2) The boundaries of a sedimentary basin are determined according to data published by Geoscience Australia in the Australian Geological Provinces, 2013.01 edition.
