Nuclear Waste Storage Facility (Prohibition) (Public Money) Amendment Act 2017

An Act to amend the Nuclear Waste Storage Facility (Prohibition) Act 2000.

The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1Preliminary1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Nuclear Waste Storage Facility (Prohibition) (Public Money) Amendment Act 2017.

2Amendment provisions

In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.

Part 2Amendment of Nuclear Waste Storage Facility (Prohibition) Act 2000

3Amendment of section 13 – No public money to be used to encourage or finance construction or operation of nuclear waste storage facility

Section 13(2)—delete subsection (2) and substitute:

   Subsection (1) does not prohibit the appropriation, expenditure or advancement to a person of public money for the purpose of financing the maintenance or sharing of information or to enable the State to engage with other jurisdictions.
