Nuclear Non-Proliferation (Safeguards) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, make the following Regulations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation (Safeguards) Act 1987.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Nuclear Non-Proliferation (Safeguards) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   New regulation 6

2.1   After regulation 5, insert:

Charge payable by producers of uranium ore concentrates

“6.

For the purposes of paragraph 69A (2) (b) of the Act, the amount of charge payable by a person who on 1 November in a financial year holds a permit granted under paragraph 13 (1)(a) of the Act is $234,000.”.
