Notice of Determination

under the

Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995

The Scientific Committee established under the Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995 (the Act) has determined to amend the descriptions of species referred to in paragraphs (a)–(e) below pursuant to section 36A (1) (a) of the Act (being amendments that are necessary or desirable to reflect changes in the name of species, or a reclassification of any such species into further species, as a result of taxonomic revision).

(a) Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Act is amended as follows:

(i)

Omit the following from the matter relating to Rostratulidae (under the headings Animals, Vertebrates and Birds):

* Rostratula benghalensis Painted Snipe (Australian
australis (Gould, 1838) subspecies)

Insert instead:

* Rostratula australis (Gould, Australian Painted Snipe
1838)

(ii)      Omit the following from the matter relating to Laridae (under the headings Animals, Vertebrates and Birds):
