I, MALCOLM THOMAS BROUGH, Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, make this Declaration under paragraph 4(4)(b) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007.

1              Name of Declaration

This Declaration is the Northern Territory National Emergency Response (Other Areas) Declaration 2007 (No. 4).

2              Commencement

This Declaration commences on the day after it is registered.

3              Prescribed area

For paragraph 4(4)(b) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007, the areas mentioned in Schedule 1 are prescribed areas.

Schedule 1        Areas that are prescribed areas

 (section 3)

1.   Aboriginal community living areas

The areas are:

(a) an area created or granted as an ‘Aboriginal community living area’ by operation of or under any law of the Northern Territory, that is not covered by subsection 4(2) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007; and

(b) any roads, rivers, streams and estuaries that run through or are adjacent to such an Aboriginal community living area, that are not covered under subsection 4(2) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007.
