I, MALCOLM THOMAS BROUGH, Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, make this Declaration under paragraph 4(4)(b) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007.

1              Name of Declaration

This Declaration is the Northern Territory National Emergency Response (Other Areas) Declaration 2007 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

This Declaration commences on the day after it is registered.

3              Other areas

For paragraph 4(4)(b) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007, each area mentioned in Schedule 1 is a prescribed area.

Schedule 1 – Other Areas

1. Nauiyu (Daly River)

The whole of the land described in Certificate of Title Volume 457 Folio 092 being NT Portion 4028 from plan S 91/200B.

1. Canteen Creek

All that area of land contained within the 2 separate areas of land outlined below having a total area of approximately 5.244 square kilometres, comprising part of NT Portion 4246 from plan S 911035, being:

(a) Area 1 of 2, that is all of that area contained within and bounded by a line commencing at Point 1 listed immediately below, thence initially in a southerly direction successively along a straight line (loxodrome) between each of the following points in the sequence to Point 12, thence to the point of commencement;

1. Finke

All that parcel of land within and surrounding the Town of Finke Northern Territory of Australia and bounded by lines described as follows: Commencing at the southwestern corner of Northern Territory Portion 431 then easterly by the southern boundary of the said Portion to the southeastern corner of the said Portion then southerly by part of a western boundary of Pastoral Lease 777 (New Crown) and its southerly prolongation to its intersection with the easterly prolongation of a northern boundary of the said Pastoral lease then westerly by the said prolongation a northern boundary of Pastoral Lease 777 (New Crown) and the westerly prolongation of the said northern boundary of the said Pastoral Lease 630 (Lilla Creek) then north by a line from  the said corner to its intersection with the southern bank of the Finke River then generally northeasterly by the southern bank of the Finke River to its intersection with the western boundary of Northern Territory Portion 431 then southerly by part of the western boundary of the said Portion to the point of commencement excluding therefrom Northern Territory portion 453 (Racecourse).
